At 52 years of age, and after just two years as bishop, Cuthbert’s harsh lifestyle begins to take its toll and he knows the end is approaching. He retires to his beloved Farne Island for his final days, preparing to meet his Lord. A group of monks visit, and for some inexplicable reason, they can’t be bothered to cook the goose Cuthbert gives them for their last meal.
