Do please join us for the Liturgy of the Rood around the Bewcastle Cross at 4pm on Good Friday, which includes a reading of the Anglo-Saxon poem ‘The Dream of the Rood’ (‘rood’ being the Old English for ‘cross’).
The short dawn service at 6am on Easter Morning, also around the Bewcastle Cross, is a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of Easter.
The main Easter service, which begins around a fire-pit, lighting candles outside the church, is at Stapleton church at 10am on Easter Sunday. We also get sprinkled with the water of baptism at this service, so its quite fun for children as well! And everyone goes home with an Easter egg…
